Fox Bay Retreat is open year-round. We are located on the shore of Lake Laberge approximately 40m/64k north of Whitehorse, Yukon – as the crow flies. Access is via the North Klondike Highway and Fox Creek Road, the latter a self-maintained bush road of 8k/5mi. There is only limited maintenance carried of the Fox Creek road and for a brief period in the spring and fall of the year, it may be closed or be a little difficult. In wintertime 4X4 or AWD transport is recommended. Trips in and out can be booked with us.
In the summer there is water access via the Yukon River and Lake Laberge. It can be a very pleasant and relaxing 2-day summer excursion from our downtown location in Whitehorse to Fox Bay Retreat. This can be shortened by departing from the Takhini River bridge crossing on the Klondike Highway or from the Deep Creek Campground on Lake Laberge. Note that reservations for a stay and/or return transport must be made at our downtown office ahead of time.

Fox Bay Facilities
Accommodation at Fox Bay Retreat is variable and adaptable. There are small, medium and large cabins and the camp is designed with your privacy in mind. Our FOX BAY LODGE is the perfect place for group outings, an outdoor Yukon wedding or a business get together.
All of the cabins include a wood or oil stove for heat, all have a propane stove for cooking and there are permanent propane light fixtures. There are no inside bathrooms and there is no electrical service to the cabins. In summer we have the midnight sun but if you’re planning a winter trip, we recommend you bring a LED headlamp and an adequate supply of batteries.
All cabin rentals include access to a common bathroom/shower house. A small generator supplies power. We are literally off-the-grid and generate our own electrical power as required. The generators are noisy and to maintain the wilderness atmosphere the use of them is limited to certain hours each day – these hours are posted and dictate the use of the bathroom/shower facility.
Drinking water and water for cooking and other such chores is brought in. Each cabin also has its own private outhouse.
There is a wood-heated sauna available at all times on a first-come, first-used basis.
