Fox Bay Retreat on Lake Laberge, Yukon

FOX BAY RETREAT is situated on the shore of Lake Laberge just north of the capital City of Whitehorse, Yukon.  This 30-mile long lake is part of the legendary Yukon River which flows south to north through the lake.  It is named for Michael Laberge, a French Canadian pioneer.  The renowned poet Robert Service immortalized the name of the lake in his poem “The Cremation of Sam McGee” the first lines of which are unforgettable.

The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was the night on the marge of Lake Laberge
I cremated Sam McGee

Fox Bay Retreat is owned and operated by the McDougall family of Whitehorse, the same folks that have  operated Kanoe People Ltd the wilderness river tour operation on the river in downtown Whitehorse for the past 25 years and more.

We offer a number of guided tours throughout the winter months and if a guided trip is not your forte, have a look at the cabin rental page and set yourself up with a personal experience like no other.

There are SPECIAL RATES during the summer months from  May 15th to September 15th.  A great way for a local Whitehorse town dweller to enjoy a true Yukon summer holiday at the Lake Laberge.
