Fall Colours and Northern Lights Tour – 6 days Fully Guided

This tour is ideal for someone who want to view the Northern Lights and Fall Colours while you can experience of rustic cabin life of Yukon.

Day 1: Your guide will meet you at Whitehorse Airport late afternoon, and take you to your hotel. On arrival day you will be treated to a familiarization tour of the City of Whitehorse, dubbed the “Wilderness City.” It is the capital city of the Yukon with a population of nearly 30,000 people. You can do some shopping for wine & beer for the next three nights at the cabin if you like. After dinner at the restaurant in town, we will return to the hotel for the rest of the night.

Day 2: After breakfast, we will check out the hotel then transfer to Kanoe People shop to get ready for the half day canoe trip on Yukon River. We’ll use a large canoe called “Voyageur Canoe”. Your guide will give you instruction and it’s a stable boat so canoe experience  is not necessary. You’ll enjoy the larger than life landscape and plenty of wildlife such as Bald eagles and water fowl. The guide will tell you the amazing history of Klondike Gold Rush which happened 130 years ago on this river. We’ll stop for a shore lunch and fishing along the way. After 3-4 hours, we’ll finish the trip at Takhini Bridge. We’ll be picked up by KP van then transferred to Takhini Hot Spring to relax. From there we go to Fox Bay Retreat and check in to each cabin after instruction and tour of the property. You will relax at the cabin till dinner is ready at the main lodge. The guide will stay up late to look for Northern Lights so you’re welcome to sleep and relax inside the cabin. We`ll enjoy the view of Northern Lights around the camp fire.

Day 3: After breakfast at the main lodge, the guide will take you hiking around the property,canoeing and fishing according to the weather and interest. We’ll do a picnic lunch or eat at the main lodge, depending on the weather. Also the guide will take you on a 1.5-2 hr boat ride on Lake Laberge, the renowned lake made famous by the well-known northern poet Robert Service when he wrote “The Cremation of Sam McGee” during the Klondike Gold Rush. Relax at the cabin till dinner is ready at the main lodge. The guide will stay up late to look for Northern Lights so you’re welcome to sleep and relax inside the cabin. We`ll enjoy the view of Northern Lights around the camp fire.

Day 4: After breakfast , we head to Kluane National Park .(Depending on the weather, we may do this activity on Day 3)  It’s about a 2 hour scenic drive on the Alaskan Highway. Kluane National Park is covered with steep mountains and ice. It contains the largest non-polar ice field in the world as well highest peak in Canada, Mt Logan 5959m. It’s also designated as one of UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll hike a section of King’s Throne Trail. It’s about 7 km-4 hours round trip with a steady climb through forest and  above the tree line. You’ll enjoy the stunning view of snow covered mountains and Kathleen Lake. We`ll stop by the visitor centre then transfer back to the lodge. You can relax at the cabin till dinner is ready. We`ll enjoy the view of Northern Lights around the camp fire.

Day 5: After the breakfast , pack up and check out of the lodge, then transfer to White Pass Scenic Route. White Pass was a popular route next to Chilcoot Pass to reach Dawson City during Klondike Gold Rush. You can enjoy the stunning view of high mountains and a gorge meandering through the valley on the way to the border to U.S. Alaska. We may be able to observe a herd of mountain goats on the mountain slope and a family of black bears along the road. We’ll stop by Carcross , a once thriving town during the Gold Rush. we return to the hotel early evening and have the last night dinner in town. If Northern Lights appear, the guide will drive you to the better location for the view. 

Day 6: Before 4 am, check out of the hotel to go to the airport. Your guide will assist you with checking in at the airport to finish the tour.

$3695 per person.
Single Supplement(two nights hotel) $280. 

We provide: Airport service-a City of Whitehorse tour-all road transport required for the duration of your stay-all meals at Fox Bay Retreat-canoes, kayaks and all required camping equipment during the tour including tents and sleeping bag. A list or recommended personal equipment you should bring with you will be sent well ahead of the tour date.  Your participation in this tour will require you fill out a personal liability waiver.
